| Skies were threatening
all day long, but the 200 lapper at Scotia Speedworld in
Halifax, Nova Scotia did make the full distance and featured
some fierce, clean racing.
Scott posted the ninth
quickest lap in time trials and drew third spot for the
Dash. After a tough fight with Larry Gelinas in the #37, the
#83 finished the Dash in fifth place.
The team played with
setting, tire pressures, and stagger to try to get some grip
but the car never was any better than fair.
In the at the lap 73
yellow, Scott came in for fresh tires but found no
improvement. Running in seventh and eighth during the long
stretch in the center of the race, the #84 drifted out wide
on the back stretch and hit the wall hard enough that Scott
called in to the crew that he might have hurt his ribs.
The car hit squarely so the body damage was not so bad, but
the exhaust was knocked back and exhaust fumes started to
swirl around the driver compartment. About seven laps from
the end, a charging Ben Rowe put Scott one lap down.
The #84 finished in eighth, the first car one lap down -
which was not bad considering it never really got hooked up
and
how hard the hit on the back straight wall had been.
