| Scott's day at Oxford for
the TD Banknorth 250 went much better than the finish order would indicate. The #84 was
handling well in the practices and comfortable to drive. A good draw for the outside pole
of the fifth heat gave Scott a good start on qualfying the for main. After a battle with
the 01 of Wayne Helliwell for a few laps, Scott moved into second behind Ricky Rolfe and
transfered right to the main in the 11th spot. At the green Scott and Travis Benjamin in the #17 started to move to
the front. By lap 75 Scott was challenging Stan Meserve in the #2 for the lead and looking
real strong. Scott was swapping places with Travis and a charging Kyle Bush when a power
steering hose came apart and the day was done for the #84 with a 38th place finish and 86
laps in the record book.
But everyone knew that Scott was a front runner with a good shot at a win. |
